Hello Dear Humans! I have had a week off from my usual occupation of dressage. Ma Leueen has been taking me out on the forest trails and we have had a grand time. We walk out the back through the paddocks and through some woods. When we make a turn to the right after the pine forest I know we are going on one of my favorite trials. Here is a photo just after we make the turn.

We go along this trail and it turns and gets much smaller. Ma Leueen and barn manager Carl call it the “goat trail”. I have never seen a goat on this trail. I know goats and I have never seen one. “Why do you call it a goat trail when there are no goats?” I asked Ma Leueen. “It’s because it is narrow and in places the hill goes up on one side of the trail and down on the other. So it is the kind of trail that goats are good at.” she told me. Well I must have some goat capabilities then. HaHa! Here is a video of me going along the Goat Trail.
After we came to the end of the goat trail we made our way out to one of the main trails and then turned onto a trail that is not much used so I had to watch where I was going. It was mostly downhill. Then we went on another trail that was mostly uphill. To be honest I think on these trail rides Ma Leueen has it easy and I am doing most of the work. But that’s OK. Here is a photo of one of the last trails we went on.

Ma Leueen says this trail reminds her of a Kath Edrill. I have never seen a Kath Edrill but Ma Leueen says it is a very big place where people go to sing and meditate and pray and stuff like that. Hmm… well that’s nice.
So that has been my week. Apparently next week we are back to work with Coach Belinda. I’m ready for it.
Till next time Dear Humans.
Liked your video Biasini, how wonderful it is to have a pleasant walk like this.

Thank you Subbashini Human. I’m glad you liked the video of me. The forest is nice even though we do not have any leaves on the trees yet. Best wishes to you from your horse friend Biasini.π΄

It is. also at this time of year is it quite silent. The birds are not there until the leaves have come back onto the trees. But also missing are the bugs. Later in the summer there can be a lot of annoying bugs so this early spring is very pleasant.

It is and we are so lucky that the barn property is adjacent to a conservation forest.

Well it was a new word to me Emma Human. Sometimes Ma Leueen does the spelling for me and other times she leaves in my spelling as she tells me it is “very creative”. π΄

Well spelling is confusing at the best of times. I always thought horses were better at counting than spelling, anyway!

The goats trail looks beautiful; although, Dizzy is very confused why there aren’t any goats too! ππxx

I agree Heather Human. But Ma Leueen has told me that goats like trails on the sides of steep mountains and our goat trail is not quite like that. So maybe our trail is not challenging enough for real goats. Please give my best to Dizzy!

Your trails look much like ours, except we still have some lingering snow. I am anxiously waiting the time that we too can return to our trails. Savi, the pinto mare.

Hey there, Biasini π Always great to read you! This sure seems like a lovely ride you two had! You might not know what a Kath Edrill is yet, but I am sure your Ma will show you a picture, and you’ll agree that sometimes, the forest can give a similar feeling, when you walk between the tall trees π *big hugs* xx

I’m glad you are feeling refreshed from your break and are ready to hit the salt mines once again, Biasini. I’m glad you didn’t let those narrow trails get your goat (Ha!)

Thank you Sandy Human. Are ‘salt mines’ the same as getting”back into harness”. Humans have lots of funny expressions. I shall remember the salt mines one. π΄
