A small foal who died some 42,000 years ago has been found in the Batagaika crater in Yukutia , Northern Russia. The perfectly preserved remains of the foal are thought to be the long extinct Lenskaya horse. The foal is perfectly preserved due to having been buried in mud which then froze and has remained frozen for millennia.
Horses have been with us for tens of thousands of years. Another proof of this is the cave drawing in the Chauvet Cave in France.
These very artistic paintings show us that horses were a source of inspiration for artists 30,000 years ago.
Horses and humans have journeyed together for …. who knows how long?
