I’m home again Dear Humans. I started my journey early in the morning. I knew I was going the night before because Coach Lou talks to me and told me I would be off on the long journey home. When the transport arrived I was happy to see there were other horses already in their box stalls. It is nice to have company on the trip especially during the night time. The others had all been in Florida for the winter and were heading home. We all chatted about the shows we had been in and how well we had all done. I was the only one who had a Reserve Championship however. I didn’t brag about it too much I just said it as if it was nothing really!
Ma Leueen was at Oakcrest Farm to meet me. And barn manger Carl was there to. When I walked in the others who knew me said “Hi Biasini! Welcome back!” There are a couple of new guys I didn’t know but they look OK. I’m back in my old stall next to my friend Fluffy. We spent most of the afternoon chatting about things. Fluffy told me it had been an awful winter. He said there was all this ice on the ground and it was super slippery and that none of the horses could go out as the humans were nervous they might slip and fall and get hurt. He said they had to spend days and days inside and it was so boring. I said I could understand that. I didn’t have the heart to tell him that I had gone out every day into a lovely big paddock with grass and sunshine. I thought that would be mean. I’ll tell him another time. I got my dinner and I enjoyed that as I was hungry after the long trip.
My hay has been put into that infernal Nibble Net. I didn’t have one of those in Florida. But Ma Leueen says that here at home they serve a lot of hay and it is better for me to eat more slowly! Here is a photo of me nibbling on the thing to get my hay. Oh…and you can see Ma Leueen has put up some of my ribbons from Florida.
Anyway it is nice to be home. It is raining but not too cold and Ma Leueen had put a blanket on me as I am used to the warm weather in Florida and she doesn’t want me to get a chill. I can look out the window and it still looks pretty much like winter but no ice on the ground.
She has promised me that after a day or two, for me to rest up, we will go out to the forest on some trail rides. I’m looking forward to that.
