Biasini Speaks About Horse Transport to Florida.

It was still dark when I heard the barn door open. Hay! It wasn’t Barn Manager Carl it was Ma Leueen! YES! That means it is my day to start on the trip south to the warm weather. I have been waiting for this for days. Yesterday I saw Ma Leueen packing my trunk so I knew it would be soon.

Ma Leueen turned on the lights in the barn and gave me my breakfast. Then she fed all the other horses. My neighbor Fluffy said: “Hay Beebs, I guess you’re leaving today. ” ” Yup! It looks like it Fluffy.” “Well safe trails to you.”

I finished up my breakfast and then Ma Leueen took me to the grooming stall to get my winter blanket off and put on my favorite black watch plaid cotton sheet and on top of that my plaid fleece lined blanket. As it gets warmer on the trip the driver guys take off layers. It is cold here and then as we travel on it gets warmer and warmer. I’m not a big fan of the cold so I like to feel it getting warmer and warmer. YES! Ma Leueen had also put on the travel fluffies on my halter. They were a gift from Coach Belinda’s offspring who is called Matthew.

I think I look very smart in my travel outfit don’t you! I also have special travel shoes that Ma Leueen puts on to keep my feet comfortable. Once she had done that she took me back to my stall. I was nibbling my hay when I heard it approaching….the Big Rig was here.

They put on my trunk and then Driver Randy came and led me on. I like how my tail looks in this photo. Good don’t you think?

As he was leading me I had a tiny slip on the ice. How glad am I to be leaving that stuff behind? Really glad let me tell you!! And as I got in I saw my friend Milly! You can see her in the photo. We’ve traveled together before . “Hay Milly, good to see you.” I said. “Good to see you too Beebs” she replied. “I’m glad I’ve got a friend to talk to on this trip,”she said.

Then I was in and Driver Randy explained that they had another stop and then I would be moved to my box stall for the rest of the trip. I took a last look at the barn.

Driver Randy closed up the doors and we were off. It will be a long trip but I’m looking forward to getting south for the winter. Happy Trails to you all Dear Humans.

Hay! Ma Leueen took some video of the Big Rig pulling out. Take a look. You can just see Milly’s head ( we were already catching up on all our news) in the window. Till next time Dear Humans.

My name is Kahlua , I am a 5 year old buckskin filly. My mum sometimes takes me to training school in the gooseneck, we have a wonderful time. My gran recently came to visit me, I think she put some photos of me on her blogsite. Enjoy yourself.

Thank you Cyranny Human! It was a very long trip and sometimes it was boring. But I enjoyed it when Driver Randy would come and give me some more water or hay. I always tried to express my thanks to him. I am quite happy now in Florida. Some new faces at the barn here and some I know from last year. Stay warm as you can in Freezignland!🐴

Wow! That’s a massive trailer. I loved seeing inside Biasini’s suitcase! Safe Journey!

    1. anne leueen Avatar

It is massive. There are thousands of horses: race horses ,hunter jumpers, eventers , dressage that migrate from Eaatern Canada and the Northeastern US down to Florida for the winter. The trailer Biasini was in will take 6 horses and they will all have box stalls so they can move about a bit and have hay and water.

What an amazing adventure for her. She seems so calm about the entire journey. A good example for us all.

    1. anne leueen Avatar

It is an adventure but he has done it quite a few times before. I’m glad he is calm as it is easier on him for a long (30 hours ) trip. Thanks for your comment.
