On the Road to the FEI World Equestrian Games Tryon 2018!

I am starting my journey to Tryon, North Carolina today ( Sunday September 9). I am taking the journey slowly as I will be driving on my own. My husband had planned to come but this week something came up and he is unable to join me. The journey will take me three days. I leave this afternoon and  will arrive in Tryon on Tuesday morning, September 11.  I am looking forward to the drive and to some of my favourite haunts to stop at for something to eat : Waffle House and Cracker Barrel. I like these places because it is part of the travel experience and the farther south I get the more the accents change. I will be staying over in hotels for Sunday and Monday nights. I’m looking forward to the trip.

In the meantime I would like to re-post three blog posts from last winter. I interviewed several Canadian dressage riders who were competing in Florida to get scores to qualify for the Canadian Team. Three of the riders I interviewed were successful. I asked all the riders the same questions. Here is my interview with Belinda Trussell who is my coach here in Canada.

I also interviewed Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu

My third interview was with Megan Lane. Megan qualified two horses her own Caravella and Deer Ridge Equestrian’s Zodiac. Zodiac has been named as her reserve horse.

Also on Team Canada is Jill Irving and her horse Degas. I did  not have a chance to interview them  while I was in Florida.

I wish Team Canada all the very best. The competition starts on Wednesday, September 12 with the Grand Prix. I will be there and will let you know how it goes!
