Product Review: Omega Alpha’s Tetda

Biasini came in with several scratches on his right hind leg. It looks like he may have rolled and got his leg stuck under the fence.  He’s sound and there are no deep cuts. When will we be seeing you?”   This was the text I received  on December 27, 2017, the first day of the 2,500 kilometer journey from Ontario to Palm City Florida.  We still had two days of travel to go. I phoned Lindsay, ( Lou Denizard’s assistant )who was looking after Biasini until we arrived. It was not too serious but ….. as a horse owner you always worry.

Two days later I was able to see for myself what Biasini had done. He had a number of  scratches, going in various directions on the inside front of his hock and the outside of his right hind leg.  The hair had been scraped off but the skin had not been broken. There was swelling on the inside front of the hock and above his ankle/fetlock.

But he was sound. The next day I tacked up and rode in my first lesson with Lou. The winter season had begun. But I did not like so much swelling. I decided that in getting the scrapes he had also bruised himself and this was causing the swelling. I had a bottle of Omega Alpha’s TETDA with me. I had not used it before but I decided to give it a try.

Omega Alpha describes this product as follows: “Function:  Use as a liniment after exercise, or for bruises and sprains. Soothes tired muscles, increases blood flow through the muscles to aid in muscle recovery. Helps recovery from sprains and strains.” That sounded like it was just what I needed. The ingredients are a collection of herbs developed by Omega Alpha in consultation with master herbalists, pharmacists,  and veterinarians.

I applied the Tetda to Biasini’s leg after riding each day for several days and the swelling began to improve after only a couple of days and was gone after a week.  So the Tetda is something that I will certainly use again.. Another very handy thing about the Tetda is that once it has dried the leg can be wrapped. There are many topical applications for injuries or exercise that cannot be wrapped so this is convenient .

Yes it is. With horses’ legs it is always a worry to have bruising and swelling so it is good to have something in the first aid kit that helps. Thanks for commenting!

It is a good product and as there are so many out there, some not so effective, I like to let horse owners know that this one is effective. Thank you for this comment Vikram!

Timely. I remembered to put a special lotion on to help with some swelling in my ankles. 😀 Thank you!
