At the Royal Winter Fair Horse Show in Toronto the Green Meadows class is a pleasure to watch. I would like to take you into the mind of one of the horses competing in this class. He is one of the two leading horses, who are chosen for their flashy movement, that are in the photos below. The horses bring the carriages in and they go around the arena in both directions, after this, they are called into the center where the judge examines the horses and the carriages in detail. Then the winner and the placings are announced. I am going to call the horse on the left ( as you look at the photos) Bill and the horse on the right Charlie. Here are Bill’s thought.
OK! This is it. We’re in the ring. We must do our best Charlie.
I think we did well Charlie! I can see the judge coming. We’re next!
The judge is touching my rein. I hope he notices how shiny my hooves are.
What is he doing now? It is bewildering to me why these judges take sooooo long!
Well Charlie, we didn’t win but we placed very well and our humans are proud of us. Let’s give them our best trot….in unison now!
