From Pedestrian to Equestrian.

This week’s WordPress Photo Challenge is the word Pedestrian. Well, back in the day, we all used to be pedestrians.  We padded about, on our feet, in and out of the caves.

30,000 years ago we decorated the interior of the caves with paintings of horses

Then we domesticated horses. And then……then we learned to ride.

Once we could ride a horse we entered a new era. Now we could travel farther afield.

Now we had horses for work and for war and mankind has never looked back.

I believe that the mankind’s learning to ride a horse is as significant as the invention of gunpowder, the harnessing of electricity and the arrival of the internet.

And today riding  a horse is what allows us to feel a freedom that we would never otherwise experience. It is far from pedestrian.

Thank you. Sometimes in the modern world we forget what a huge difference it made when we began to ride horses.

There are different legends about the creation of the horse, which mostly come from the Old Egypten & Arabic Lander (and from the Bedouins, for example).

Hir the first once the short form

When God created the horse, he said to him,
“I have created you like no other.
All the treasures of this earth lie
    between your eyes.
    Thou shalt be thy enemies
    under your hoofs,
but bear my friends on your back.
Your saddle should be the seat for
    Pray be to me.
And thou shalt fly without wings
and conquer without a sword. ”
