The Structure Under the Skin

This week the WordPress Photo Challenge is the word  “structure”.  My response is to show two photos; one taken at the Winter Equestrian Festival  of a horse and rider that have  been painted with their bone structure for a “Horses Inside Out” demonstration. The other is a photo of Biasini and me, also in trot, with only the “outside” visible.

That looks like a Halloween costume for a horse!

That is truly fantastic! Love that both the rider and the horse are skeletal. Very cool!

It is so incredible that we cannot see the real things that are happening in your body when you ride, only the outside. So much is going on in your muscles, joints, etc! It absolutely fascinates me!

I agree and also to see the complexity of the horse’s joints.

This is a great post. Seeing the bone structure is educational for us. Interesting the pivot points of the joints.

We just take movement for granted and it interesting to see what lies beneath. Thanks for the comment.

Very interesting! I have been doing a lot of studying how the horse uses its muscles and etc lately while people are riding them .:) 🙂

Glad you found it interesting. The horse’s spine in the neck always fascinates me. I often forget how curved it is. Glad you found this post interesting. Thanks for your comment.

That’s a very revealing pic Anne. Might be a typo – ‘pained’ vs ‘painted’? Or not – pained might be right!

    1. anne leueen Avatar

Oops! It should be painted. They use a special livestock paint so there is no pain involved. Thanks for that note Frank!
