When my human, Ma Leueen, told me the Word Press Photo Challenge this week was the word Elemental I said:” I’ve got it. I can do that one…..air, fire, water , earth….I’ve got it.”
It’s elementary my Dear Humans. I told Ma Leueen that I already knew exactly what photos to submit for the challenge. She didn’t seem too keen on letting me take over but when I pointed out to her how hard I have been working this past week and how I have been doing my best to follow her instructions and not take over she could at least let me take over the Photo Challenge! So here are my photo picks.
We horses can be airborne! Yes, only for a few seconds but that’s more than humans can do. I know pole vaulters come close but they are using those long poles so that’s cheating. Look at this for airborne!
When we go out to the forest trails this is what “earth” is all about. Quiet. Birdsongs. Rustling of the trees. The sound of the earth beneath my hooves. Earth.
After I finish working Ma Leueen brings me a bowl of water. Yes , you are correct Dear Humans, this is a bowl for canines. But she throws out the old water and fills it up with fresh water for me while I stand in the wash stall before I have my after work bath. When I have drunk all of it she fills it up with more water. I love drinking out of this silver bowl. I am the only horse in the barn that does this. Water is essential to good health for horses and for humans.
Well fire can be dangerous. We horses know that. So I do not choose to show any photos of an actual fire. But here is my interpretation of fire. This is a photo of Ma Leueen and me in a competition in Florida. We are doing the extended canter at the end of the Prix St. George test. I love this movement. I fly across the arena and my coloring is just like a flame. Fire!
So there you have it. Elementary and elemental! Till next time Dear Humans.
