Not a Bridge Too Far

This week’s Word Press Photo Challenge is the word ‘bridge”.  I immediately thought of the carriage driving competitions in the World Equestrian Games.  This photo comes from the FEI World Cup Driving website.  2018 will be the World Equestrian Games in Tryon NC. If you have a chance to see any televised coverage or better still to go and see it in person the driving cross country competition is breathtaking!  Horses galloping through water, over bridges and through tight obstacle courses.  Thrilling.

Gorgeous capture. Love the way the front horses have their legs in sync

Yes they are in sync. When I have seen these competitions it seems that the lead horses do this. Perhaps it is how they stay together. Thanks for your comment.

Wow, I bet that would be cool to see in person.

      It would. Very exciting!

Yes especially when they come up onto the bridges which are made of wood. Also the splashing when then gallop through the water. Thanks for your comment!

Such power in that team of horses being directed by that person. Wow, such a connection between man and animal.

Yes! It amazing to see what these horses can do. They also have people (usually one or two) who hand off the back to counterweigh the carriage around corners!

Interesting. I bet the sound of the hooves pounding the ground is incredible.
