Who’s at the Horse Show?

Well, first of all there are the horses. It is a “horse show” after all.

For these two immaculate grey horses hours have been spent preparing, washing, scrubbing and polishing. Greys are high maintenance.

Then there are the COACHES. They are there to help their students who are competing in the horse show.  During the test they have to stand at the edge of the arena and watch. Worth remembering “they also serve who stand and wait.”

The tireless coaches, beside the warm up ring, in the blazing Florida  sun, giving last minute words of encouragement.  And possibly wondering what it might have been like to work in an air conditioned office.  No…I’m just kidding.

But here’s a surprise…..there are some other very special attendees who are present at every horse show. The loyal, faithful and tireless Horse Show Dogs! The captions will let you know what they are saying.

Hey! There’s my friend Henry. Haven’t seen him for ages! I would bark a hello but that would not go down well at this moment in the dressage test.

Oh will you look at that?  That Great Dane thinks he’s “all that” just cause he’s so darned BIG!

Hey, did you see those two little dogs back there, a Corgi and a powder puff.  I don’t know how you can even call them dogs.

I am the best  and the most beautiful dog here. I am also the best behaved and the most loyal and most patient and …..can I get a treat now?

    The coaches are not in the comfort of an A/C office. But they are not flabby and baggy either. They look smart and chic. What else do you want?

      These two are my coaches Lou is my winter in Florida coach and Belinda is my coach at home. Both of them love horses and would not trade their jobs in for any AC and office! I was just kidding about that. 😉

        Yes, in that way they may defy the age as well ! My dream was to become a jockey. It remains unfulfilled.

      Yes and they have to wait around patiently while everyone focuses on the horses. But there are some dogs that have real friendships with a horse. Thanks for your comment!
