Green and Green!

This week’s Word Press Photo challenge is :” It IS easy being green!”  And my response is: Yes it is!  If you would like to see some of the other responses click on the challenge.

GREEN ……My photo is of me in front of a lush green plant in Florida. At home in Ontario everything is still grey and brown but in Florida there is GREEN twelve months of the year!

GREEN ……This photo was for my post on an English company, Awear, that recycles and repurposes clothing and fabric.  The points at the front of  my tail coat are made from repurposed fabric! for more information on the work done by Awear you can read my post. “Are you aware of what you wear?”   It takes 10,000 litres of water to make a single pair of jeans! So repurposing and recycling clothing seems to be a pretty “green” idea to me.

It went very well. I have worn the flower pattern points on my tail coat in two shows. One at White Fences and the other at Global. ( see trial, tribulation and triumph for the full story).

  2. Anne, I think it is great that you try to make others aware of trying to recycle clothing. These days we buy far too much of them and don’t wear them often enough.
Having studied fashion for two years I know how much effort and unfortunately nasty stuff goes into making a single item of clothing. We should all be more conscious of what we buy and spend more on one single piece that has been sourced ethically and ecologically and avoid these mass produced stores one can find on the high street. Unfortunately I know myself I am too much of a fashion addict to always live by this rule.

  4. Recycling clothing is a great way to be green. I always try to with mine. Never knew that about a pair of jeans though, can’t believe the amount of water for just one pair! xxxx
