Monday Minstrel: The Ancient and the Modern

Drawn by the ancients in caves many millennia ago. Spotted horses.

Horses have been with us for years. Possibly millions of years. Food for thought.

I have a friend in England, Tom Buckland, who breeds them!

Oh my! I imagine the possibilities, when I can go over to visit him 🙂 (next life.)
They have a special temperament – the three I’ve met were all just like the breed is described!

For any geeks out there who want to check out more about them, since they’re so rare in the U.S., this is a link to someone who put in a lot of work into a write up.
        Nope, not me 🙂

I will alert Tom. He wanted to know more about the one in Wellington but no one seemed to know much.

Horses have served man in work and companionship for so long. The Knabstrupper is a beauty.

Yes! And the knabstrupper is a rarity . At the shows in Wellington this is the first and only one I have seen. He just came in to school in the warm up wing and not compete but he was certainly eye catching. I wish I could have got a better photo. Thanks for commenting.
