I realize that most of the bloggers responding to this week’s photo challenge : It’s Not This Time of Year Without will be posting photos of lovely holiday meals and edible treats and decorations. However…reality check. This time of year, where I live in Canada, it’s grey and there is a bone chilling dampness in the air.. You can see from the photo that the sky is grey, the trees are bare and we have no snow yet to brighten things up.
I do not have the best circulation in my feet and fingers and when riding in my tall riding boots my feet can get cold as it is not possible to fit thick socks inside these boots. My solution—- wearing warm boots and Alpaca wool socks until the last minute while I groom and tack up my horse. Then with toasty warm feet I take off the thick Alpaca wool socks and just have my regular boot socks. I put on my tall boots and start riding. Soon the exercise gets my circulation going and I am a happy and warm rider.
Alpaca wool socks! That is what I cannot do without at this time of year.
